After a win last Friday to improve to 2-5-1, Millburn kept their streak going with an impressive win against Montclair Kimberly Academy 2-1 on Monday. After a lackluster first half from both teams, Jeff Plump cracked the game wide open with a goal to make it 1-0 and Millburn never looked back. Plump then kept things going with another goal to give the Millers a 2-0 lead. Plump’s goals were from assists by Matt Brenner and Sean Klein. MKA threatened late with a goal in stoppage time, but were not able to force overtime, resulting in the 2-1 victory.

An uneventful first half made it 0-0 heading into halftime with Millburn having very few shots on goal and making costly turnovers with the ball. Whatever Coach Robinson said to the team at halftime was a catalyst to a remarkable second half. More shots on goal, tighter passes, and a stifling defense against MKA were the keys to a fantastic Millburn second half.  Along with masterful substitutions by Coach Robinson, MKA had to little to none opportunities to score.

Millburn improves to 3-5-1 with their next game against West Orange and MKA falls to 2-5 and have been outscored 6-1 in their last 2 games.
