Coming off of a 2 point loss to Bloomfield, the Lady Millers were determined to seek redemption against the Lakers of Mountain Lakes. The game started off rather sluggish with poor shooting from both teams. The Lady Miller’s were having a hard time breaking the 2-3 zone and thus could not get the ball to Hubertus and Brown underneath the basket. However, defensively the Lady Miller’s were superb forcing many turnovers and poor shots. Despite their excellent defense, the Lady Miller’s were down at Halftime due to the perfect Free Throw Percentage by the Lakers during the first half.

As the second half was underway, the Millers made an early three and not only reestablished the lead, but also their shooting game which was missing during the first half. As Millburn continued to dominate the boards both on the offensive and defensive side, there was no way Mountain Lakes could get back into the game once the Lady Millers retook the lead.

Overall it may not have been the best performance out of the Lady Millers with their shooting falling a little flat, but there was a lot to be optimistic about before Senior Day on Saturday. Winning the game 37-28, the Lady Millers showed pure determination to grind out the victory and improve their overall record to 13-12.
