In a night of family, friends and music, the MHS Cafeteria was filled with the sounds of a cappella singing from Millburn High School’s very own Soulfege A Cappella.

Soulfege was just coming off a third place finish at the ICHSA Mid-Atlantic Quarterfinal during their annual Winter Jam. The concert is held every year in the cafeteria, and is one of only two times per year that the group showcases its talent at Millburn High School.

Soulfege performed crowd favorites such as Unfaithful by Rihanna and Leonard Cohen’s Hallelujah, along with new songs including Post Malone’s Congratulations and Hozier’s Take Me To Church.

The group was joined by six Washington School fifth graders whom Soulfege had been teaching in a weekly, after-school enrichment course in basic a cappella. Soulfege, along with the Washington School students, performed their two classic songs, Stand by Me and Lean on Me.

The group’s next performance comes at Adelphi University, next Saturday 2/10 in the Singstrong competition, where Soulfege will be looking to defend its first place crown. Soulfege’s other MHS performance, the annual SAVE concert, will be held in the MHS auditorium on Friday, June 15th.
